Easter in Times Square: Why We're Taking Church to the Streets of New York City
Tomorrow morning, April 5, at 11:00 AM, V1 Church will hold an Easter service in Times Square.
I want to be honest about what that sentence means to me, and why I believe it matters to you.

How This Door Opened
A short while ago, we requested and received permission from city leaders to gather for worship in one of the most iconic public spaces on earth. We are grateful for their cooperation. But I also want to be clear about something: only God could open a door like this.
This is not about a pastor or a platform. This is about Jesus, and what He is doing across New York City and beyond.
Why Times Square, and Why Now
We are living in a Christ-centered moment of Christ-centered movement. From the White House to college campuses to local churches across the nation to the streets of NYC, something is shifting. People are hungry for an encounter with the living God. Not religion. Not performance. An encounter.
Easter Sunday has always been about one thing: the resurrection of Jesus and the hope it provides to every person willing to receive it. Hosting an Easter service in Times Square is an extension of that belief. It is an act of faith that says the gospel still belongs in the public square.
A Church That Believes God for the Impossible
I am beyond thankful to serve as a pastor in New York City. Thankful for a congregation that refuses to accept limitations on what God can do. Thankful for a staff and volunteer team that consistently operates with an uncommon level of commitment and sacrifice.
None of this happens without people who believe that God still moves. Together, we get to participate in what Jesus is doing in this generation.
Pray With Us This Easter Sunday
If you are reading this, I want to ask you for one thing: would you pray for us tomorrow?
Pray for the people who will walk through Times Square and hear the gospel for the first time. Pray for those who have carried pain, confusion, or distance from God for years and are one moment away from freedom. Pray that the Holy Spirit would move without hindrance.
And wherever you are celebrating the resurrection this year, know that we are standing with you. There is no spirit but the Holy Spirit, and He is not finished.
