Attendance, online-view and response totals are reported figures attributed to CBN and Mike's team, not an audited city attendance count.
The permit establishes official approval. It does not by itself prove that no earlier official Easter Sunday church service occurred in Times Square.
Why the moment matters
The enduring significance is not a superlative. It is the substance of the act: a local-church pastor preaching the death and resurrection of Jesus in a public square, inviting repentance and faith, and calling Christians to carry the Gospel beyond the building. ChurchLeaders recorded Mike's stated aim in plain terms: church should go out instead of waiting for people to come in.
CBN's April 6 report described thousands present and more than 40,000 watching online. It also reported that Mike's team received messages indicating more than 600 decisions to follow Christ. Those numbers belong to the reporting record and should remain attributed exactly that way.
